Amelia Capaz is an experienced, Brooklyn-based media producer specializing in both on-set and digital production, with over six years in the television industry.
Originally hailing from Jersey, Capaz moved to the city in pursuit of an education in fashion. As a student, she spent countless hours on social media, curating threads, making memes, and editing social video. Soon after completing her final semester (and realizing that fashion might not actually be her preferred life path), she was scouted on Twitter by VICE Media's then-network VICELAND, where she would go on to spend two years as Social Producer. During her time at the network, Capaz formed a close working relationship with Bodega Boys Desus Nice and The Kid Mero, and left alongside them when their late-night series moved to Showtime.
At DESUS & MERO on Showtime, Capaz spent four years as a producer on the digital team, and was promoted to Senior Digital Producer ahead of the show's final season. As Senior Producer, she launched the IRL production of D & M's pandemic Zoom series, "Happy Hour," and worked with the larger show production to film monthly at The Flower Shop, a bar in New York's Lower East Side. The series relaunch featured big names like A-Trak, Fetty Wap, Sam Jay, and more. She remained in this position until the series ended in July 2022.
Capaz is currently the Senior Producer of Stephen Colbert Presents Tooning Out the News' digital department, where she continues her journey in team leadership and video content production.
When she's not working, Capaz enjoys spending time with her husband Jordan and dogs Chuchi and Yuca, playing video games, and keeping up with her practice of being a lifelong Pokémon franchise fanatic.
